Blast from the past...

Hi Richard,

Hmm, guess I should feel flattered that you'd cite me, especially since I consider many here much more knowledgable than me... but more to the point, I'm a bit confused by why you consider this post particularly relevant now. I assume it's because of the 48% of sales that WCW represented in Q3? That being the case, I guess maybe I just wasn't clear in my previous post. Let me try to clarify...

So yes, I made two points about WCW in my post. The first (and less important for THQ's long-term health) was that the value of the WCW license would be considerably less by June 1999. Seeing as it's October 1998, I'm having trouble understanding the relevance of this?

The second (and more important) point was that THQ needs to start publishing more and better games. Check out the reviews of some of its recent games. Yes, THQ still has room to improve, but its games have definitely been better. I guess if I had to criticize, I'd criticize the fact that they still haven't released a non-wrestling mega-blockbuster (Quest did well, but not along the lines of blockbuster well). On the flip side, that's never been part of THQ's business model.

Anyway, maybe I was just unclear before (in which case, I appologize), but I really don't see why the 48% number in Q3 makes you recall this post.

Trying to respond politely to a generally impolite poster,

Harry

PS Must... learn... restraint... :-)
