Good to know that 1 MB buffer should be more than adequate. Guess I'll just have to decide whether the extra convenience of 4x is worth the $. (For others who may be interested, buycomp says the SCSI 4x will probably ship before the SCSI 2x, interestingly, even tho the new Yamaha IDE 16x2x2 is available now in limited quantities.)

FWIW, I've never had BSOD problems with the Intel BM drivers--rock solid stable. Should work on your Tyan MB, AFAIK. Then again, if your main drives are SCSI (?), I suppose it wouldn't much matter.
