Dan or anybody

Somewebwhere or other I was reading about new versions of the
300a that were hard locked to 300mhz (i.e., not OC-able).
Don't recall where nor know if it was credible. Any
info/feedback/insight on this anyone?

Spots

PS. I would sure love to join you guys OCing the 300a,
and maybe I'll spring for one even though I can't possibly
afford the time. Shame on all of you for leading
me, a firm specs man, so far astray <g>. Ok, ok, read
"firm specs man" as "wimp man". Won't be too far wrong <ggg>.

PCnut may have a better special on the 266
to get rid of them.

pcnuts special today is for the combo for $454. The same combo with C300a is $70 more. I guess the extra $20 savings is the 'special" part.

I m thinking save $70 now on a computer for me to get winNT under my belt and then see 6-8 months from now whats on the cpu upgrade table. You're probably not aware that I have never owned a Windoz machine. By the time I get up to speed the c300a will have been superceded as the best buy and I'll be thinking upgrade anyway.

I guess its a personal call on not a lot of money but it seems sensible to wait for later celerons or cheaper PIIs if I don't really need them for a while.
