What? Why would Amazon want their losses to be greater? And "has it's way" implies there is some sort of power relationship going on between Amazon and the brokerage houses. When does a company not have its way?

Of course, you and I both know that Vinik could give Bezos an order, and Bezos would have no choice but to say "Yes, Sir!"

After all, without Vinik, Amazon would just be another pissant e-tailer like Egghead, trading below 10 bucks. (hell, even egghead made a profit at one time)
