Spying for a "friendly country" is not my expression, Abdul...That is why I put it in quotes. I agree it sounds "lame and weak", but I do not take personal responsibility for it.<gg>

People who follow the spy stuff apparently distinguish between spying for a "friendly country," for a "hostile country," and for "an enemy power" (as in wartime, I guess). Sort of like 1st degree murder, 2nd degree murder, and manslaughter....??

In other words, it is not just a simple Thou Shalt Not Spy. Much, I gather, depends on who you spy for...

Just in case, O Slave of Truth: This does not mean I necessarily approve of this distinction. It only means that I recognize it.
