Joe my friend is a fund manager for a private pool. He just had a discussion with David Zacaria (sp?) in which DZ said he expects unit shipments for VB to account for 20% of the home market OEM sales. The rest of the math goes something like this:

estimated total unit sales = 100 Mil.
estimated % of home PC sales = 40%
hence estimated home unit sales = 40 Mil. units
20% of home market = 8 Mil. units.
estimated ASP for VB in and the like in 99 = $30 (may get as low as 27)
Estimated sales growth of V2 class shipments in retail = 0% ~ -50%

Hence the revenue numbers that you got. Tell me if this makes sense to you or if I should point out some holes in his arguement to him.

P.S. The only estimate number from 3Dfx was the 20% market share number.
