RE:If I remember correctly, only $50M was authorized and about 1/2 had been used by the last quarterly report.

As of the last 10Q filing, they had only purchased $6.9M of stock. Please refer to:

Subsequent to June 30, 1998, the Company has purchased an additional 100,000 shares, bringing the total shares repurchased to date of 405,000 shares at a cost of $6.9 million.
