DSL Notes:

Monday's IBD has an industry snapshot of the "Telecommunications - Equipment" industry. In their analysis they have the following to say about DSL:

"Demand for bandwidth is driving network upgrades in local phone markets. The average Internet session lasts 20-30 minutes, whereas a voice call is three minutes, Lucent says. In late '97 phone companies began rolling out faster Internet links to consumers and small businesses. The digital subsriber line (DSL) technology works over existing copper wiring. About 36 million homes will be offered DSL service by '03, says market researcher Paul Kagan Associates Inc. in Carmel, CA."

PS - Gary, I don't recall anything on the PAIR conference call about 1 million shares per quarter going to the stock option plan (then again, I may have missed it).
