HBO, etc., have no power. They're just pawns in the game. The VOD is nearer than you think. The only problem is whether you have fiber to your pad. TWX has a CDROM delivery of new films. @Home will have its presentation. We all are just waiting for the build-out. Does anyone remember that TCI would do the SF Bay Area this fall? Well, it's this fall and it isn't getting any sooner. TCI, where are you?

The discussion ERM and I have had is very technical and may not actually have ramifications for years. I am grateful to him as a veteran ATHM commentator for bringing up this issue. We should knock it around plenty and regularly.

Your comment about a mass of complaints from the public is quite astute. It can move mountains, and even regulators.

I don't know that ATHM needs anyone. It's hard to believe, given the haughty powers on all sides. I have tried to tear this company down from every imaginable and unimaginable angle. I didn't like them when they came out in the IPO. All the wrong kinds of people and wrong interests involved. After the IPO I liked them less and less. As a disciplined pro, I've learned to invest in what I don't like, but can't refute. Now, I'm practically alone in the technical defense of the company's strategic positioning.

Wall Street simply hates this company. Doubt is high. Faith is absent. Conviction is there, but only in the naive and trusting. I have said for almost a year that this company would be one of the greatest plays of all time. I haven't changed my mind one wit's bit. All the players are taking their appropriate roles, the orchestra is tuning up, the only thing left is for the fat lady to sing.
