** Market Tech. Analysis **

NYT again. Hope Brinker addresses the retest issue this weekend. Love those double negatives:

"On the other hand, some said the underpinnings of the extended rise had been none too solid, as reflected in the unimpressive volume of rising stocks compared with falling stocks.

"The last few days, the quality of the rally has been mediocre at best," said Nora McAuley, a technical analyst at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. "For a big up leg, you need to see 3-1 or better" for the ratio of advancing to declining volume.

Ms. McAuley called the last two weeks an interim rally in a downtrend and said it was "not unlikely" the market would slip back and test its Oct. 8 lows.

I can't figure out what these guys might be seeing a reason to pierce the lows. Anyway, it was an interesting show and I would recommend it.

Reasons are easy:

1) The prez could get caught doing the nasty with an intern leading to lying under oath and possible impeachment.

2) Russia could melt down and go commie again.

3) Japan could collapse

4) Brazil could follow.

5) Major smart people could lose a ton of $ in risky investments much like the derivative problem in So. Cal in 1994... Maybe there would need to be a major bailout to maintain confidence?

Oops! THis already happened and all we got was a test of 7400!

We'll just climb a wall or worry to new highs!

BTW, Do you get the impression Lars likes Brinker?
