Mike, TWX is going to give HFC and cable modems a black eye. They are installing way to fast, architecting the system poorly, and putting way too many subs on a node. This could all be corrected with invisible hubs,MetroDWDM system, but they have no one that can build it for them. Toshiba is their system integrator, and they have no clue how to build advanced systems. GIC and HLIT are the two leading builders of advanced HFC systems. If they continue to build systems and say stupid things like we don't need no DWDM,we just install more fiber, they are going to throw the reputation of cable modems down the tubes. TWX has got to advance towards the 21st Century, not stay mired in the 1980's versions of HFC they are currently building.
ATHM is growing rapidly, but building an advanced system, they will correct the problems. I see no chance for TWX under current management and comments to correct their problems. Malone may be a court jester,Levin is the equivalent of Rain Man to HFC. Malone is a good engineer, and a stock market genius, he also manipulates the press very well.
