bb, go to Yahoo Finance, click on 'major world indices', then choose 'chart' on say Japan Nikkei, the chart will come up and below the picture there will be a row entitled 'table'.

Choose 'daily' and then a table comes up and at the top of the table you can enter a date range of data you want. the nikkei goes back to 84 so enter a year before that to get all the data.

then hit the 'get historical data' button

and then scroll all the way down to the bottom and there will be a link that says 'download spreadsheet data'

go there and it will import the data into excel

once you are in excel though you have to sort the data a prime it for metastock for the downloader..
