<< Does anyone have info on Swifttrade? >>

Hi Ron,

I don't know anything about Swifttrade Securities, but they clear with Southwest, the same as MB Trading and others and it is the clearing firm that holds the money and securities. Here is the Southwest site

swst.com

I suggest you run checks on both at the following site, to see if there are any disputes, etc.

nasdr.com

You could also call the Ontario Securities Commission and see if they have any complaints outstanding.

BTW, I once called the US Government and established that the SIPC insurance will protect Canadians holding US accounts. It is similar to the CIPC Canadian account insurance. Not sure about any private insurance they might have over and above those amounts.

John

PS - I poked around their site, but couldn't see what commissions they charge ... maybe I missed it. Do you know off-hand?
