As I was not reading all of the post of your ongoing conversation, I apologize for being some off topic. I saw the death is death article and it just hit me to "rewrite" the article from a different angle. With regards to the death of the man, how can I approve of murder for any reason? And he was murdered.

As far as the death penalty, I can see the argument that killing and murder are two different things, and that murdering the innocent and killing the guilty(from a legal standpoint) are two different things also. As you know, Texas has been executing it's share lately, but I have seen no data that supports the " deterrent" theory. (there may be some, I just have not see it).

I used to be in favor of capital punishment, but I can no longer say that. IMO even killing has become so glamorized and we are so desensitized to it that the death penalty may not be a deterrent.

The final words(to me) on the men and women that choose to take the lives of the unborn and what should be my attitude toward them, are this :

Matt. 5:

43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

easy to quote, hard to live by.
