Garry, You are exactly right. Storz, is in fact primarily a rigid scope that doe NOT compete with Olympus in the flexible scope market (Colonoscopes, EGD scopes, ERCP scopes Bronch scopes Pediactric scopes). I must make a confession. I've been watching this thread for over a year and biting my tounge often because of my knowledge of this market. I was a sales support engineer for Olympus. I trained staffs on the operations of Olympus equipment, Installed systems etc. I've seen the LIFE LUNG systen up close and believe in its technology. HOWEVER, I AM EXTREMELY CONCERED over the lack of knowledge with this technology in the GI Community. I currently call on Gastroenerologists as a sales person selling another product, and I ask for opinions on the technology and there is little and typicaly no knowledge of the system. This is extremly alarming because the lastest GI conferences (Digestive Disease Week and American College of Gastroenterology) are now over for the year. Certainly this is not a scientific poll, but it is however a snap shot of of what may be going on or not going on in relation to knowledge of this technology. These conferences are where new information is discussed and reviewed. Furthermore, when I ask my old assoiciates what is going on with the Xillix Technology the answer is always the same: I DON'T KNOW. That answer sums up the problem. None of us know. The following are what we need answers to: If the the LIFE LUNG system increases detection of cancer by 171%, how can any hospital morally be without one? Are there any credible studies under way with the LIFE LUNG and LIFE GI systems and what are they currently stating? When does Xillix expect to recieve FDA aproval for the LIFE GI and where will it be marketed first? What are the names names of the medical thought leaders in the US who have reviewed this technology and what are their opinions? Certainly market research has been done to determine if the technology will prevail. It is true that Olympus is the "Microsoft" of the Flexible Endoscopy World. That might even be an understatment. However, the regular Olympus sales reps from what I understand are not even selling the Xillix equipmet. It is a very small seperate sales staff. Like many of you I am a share holder who bought in at around the low $2US range. I believe it is time for some real answers from Xillix. ENOUGH FLUFF! Of course somebody in IR is going to give the Half Full answer. I want to know now. Excuse Time is over. What is going on?
