I have the Soundblaster "Live!". I like it, but I would not call MIDI playback excellent. Though I am not an expert, some voices are about dead on, while others still sound artificial. I have the benefit of comparing Live!'s sound output with my Yamaha PSR-630, which has a floppy drive built in for loading MIDI files and MIDI interface jacks. The Yamaha sounds significantly better.

The Live! card is great for composing. You can't beat the 256 voice polyphony for the money. It also comes with a nice software bundle, so you actually are getting a very good value, IMO. I haven't ventured into the 4 channel surround yet, my amps I have only allow me to input 2 channels.

I'm not quite sure what appeal Live! will have for the masses though. The other sound cards out there do a fine job and are much cheaper. For the average PC guy, I think a SB16 or clone are quite adequate.

So earnings are out next week? I bought some CREAF last week, but I may sell before the announcement. I've followed and watched ESST go down the toilet. Hoping for better from CREAF.
