I'd like to introduce the #1 performing Biotech Stock in Canada, Forbes Medi-Tech Inc (VSE:FMI), as ranked by Scotia Capital Markets and Levesque Beaubien (#1 for companies greater than $50 million market cap). It was #3 in 1997.

LOM has just released a Buy recommendation with a six month target of $14.75 (a 105% increase from current price) but state in the report that the target is conservative and actually expect a market cap target of $500 million in the next 12 months. This is a 500% increase from current.

There is a thread on SI under FMI. Call IR, Don Lay, at 604-681-8976 or email: dlay@forbesmedi.com. Also has reports from C.M.Oliver, Union Securities, Credifinance and Groome Capital. FMI is also prominently mentioned in reports by Merrill Lynch and Paribas from London, UK.

I expect it will be the #1 performing small-cap stock overall in Canada in 1999.
