I was never a party to those remarks but I guess the amount of respect for it is directly related to the amount one makes or looses.During 1995/96 there was a lot of investors including the mutual funds. No question there are some unsavery characters in the juniors but there are for sure some honest accomplished geologists too.It is much like any junior speculative market, you must do your DD and be sure not to paint them all with the same brush, good or bad.Good Luck!

Lonnie : That I can't say. Vancouver is almost at the other side of the earth from where I live so I have no personal experience.

I demonstrated this chart of the VSE with the comment that the index appeared to have bottomed out.

I was told that the investors had, in fact, run away after being burnt in a series of debacles. And that they won't return. That's how the "respectability" issue arose.

From my point of view, however, I still feel that the worse the sentiment is/was to the VSE, the more significant is the apparent bottoming out. Particularly now, when the heavies appear to be on the skids. I am not going to invest --- I am merely using the index as a guide to what is happening in the speculative gold share market.
