It would be unlikely because they're two different businesses and Bertelsmann is 50/50 partners with AOL in Europe.

I don't see the benefit to AOL. It seems like a Quaker Oats/Snapple kind of deal (or
maybe even less symbiosis). Besides, AOL has arrangements with barnesandnoble.com
and is benefiting from partnerships with Bertelsmann in expansion into foreign
markets...

Does anyone see anything in an AOL/AMZN marriage that I am missing?

eb,

You explained my position in better detail. Thank you. Bertelmann is a large player in AOL and of course, now in BKS. No reason AOL would want anything to do with AMZn except take their advertising dollars. A team up with BKS makes much more sense.

Glenn

Another little piece to the puzzle. Outside of William, you can't find anyone more bullish on the 'Thing' than the Motley Fool.
I mean they love this 'Thing' with a passion.
Now Aol has an option to buy 20% of TMF.
Call this a coincidence, but Doerr loves Case. Case loves TMF. Case,Doerr and TMF loves the 'Thing'. Isn't this a plural marriage, made in heaven?
