Of course , there is nothing wrong for Clinton to accept a private invitation to play golf at Bill Gate's home , if

1) Bill Gate and Clinton are long term good fiends,
2) Bill and Clinton did not discuss about business privately during the Golf game. Because , all business issues, especially which will have an impact on the third parties should be discussed at Clinton's office with a public record.

If Bill Gate and Clinton are not long term friends, and at the same time Bill is trying
to persuade the US government to file a suit against a third party to protect Microsoft's NT market, while Microsoft already had 40% of the High end OS market,
and Clinton is the major decision maker about whether to suit of not, then , it will
be very interesting for Clinton to accept a private entertainment at Gate's home.
Especially, if after the entertainment, US government decided to file a suit against the
third party to benefit Microsoft only , that is to protect Microsoft's NT market, while Microsoft already had 40% of the market share in the high end OS business. If that is not the case, then I do not see anything wrong for Clinton to play golf with Bill.

Gates doesn't persuade Clinton to sue MSFT's competitor, he even not to persuade Clinton to prevent his competitors to sue MSFT.

Do you see the difference?

I think every high tech company in the US has the GOD given right to decide:

1) What product to develop
2) How to develop the product.
3) What new functions be implemented into its old products to make the new products more powerful and cost efficient and competitive in the free market.
4) When to release its new products to the market.
5) Its market strategy.

As long as all the effort is to make its products more competitive in the market and
which will benefit the consumers. That is what we call justice all about. The government's business is not to interfere the development plan of companies or
tell them what they should develop, or how to develop, or what functions they should or should not implement in their products, especially to benefit certain
companies whih will sacrifice the right of consumers. That is not what we call
jusitice.

If DOJ wins this case, then , it means all the high tech companies in US, which included your beloved company "SUNW" , will lose their right about how to develop their products. All high tech company will have to consult the DOJ or get its approval before they can start to develop any new products, otherwise , they may get
a suit filed against them by DOJ anytime under the name of justice or Anti Trust.
Do you think it is a disaster for the Modern High Tech industry ?
