sonny, as much as i hate to admit, IBM is a good core holding and maybe on a pull back could be BAH (buy & hold).

ofcourse, pc will not die just like mainframe never did. PC will be around but IMO many small appliances will also share that space.

i.e. internet phones, and other house hold and automobile and portable appliances will take attention of consumer $$$$. On the buinsess side maybe huge highly reliable and expandable servers clusters will take business $$$$.

PCs are very expensive to admin. not the cost of pc but to install, upgrade and keep backup on every indivdual's data requires lots of sys admin time.
this would be replaced by a huge server w. central database and could be managed much more efficiently much for reliable.

a customer want to cluster 8PC to begin with and move to 64 later on.
Many people won't need any PC if their job is to only "look up" or search for info.

i have already seen small cell phone w. modem built in that can access email of the main server somewhere remotely. there is no need for PC in this case. Ofcourse, PC will have it's own place somewhere in the market.

I like AOL and I also loaded up on CSCO around 40ish a few weeks ago.
those companies (internet and networking) will do well regardless of pc. sorry for the ramble.

don't foget to set your clock.
