Jim
I wouldn't exactly call Packard Bell a Tier One OEM. Memories of the past, when they put used equipment in new PCs still lingers in my mind. Also, PB's computers cost less than true Tier One computers. My guess is they don't pay as much attention to build quality, or they use cheaper equipment. I hope PB isn't the company AMD was talking about when they told they were going to announce a Tier One OEM with the release of the K6-2 380 and 400.
I guess I should look at it like this- the more non-AMD-using OEM's that switch over, the better for AMD.

Jim , re. P-B K6-2 333mhz PC
This is another indication of how AMD is playing its cards close to its body (so to speak).
It makes you wonder how many other newsworthy items are yet to be disclosed , maybe as a short trap .
BTW , I think Gateway is a likely customer . Last summer Ted Gaitt
reportedly said that he found the K6-2 "very interesting , with the success of HP K6-2 PCs he probably finds them even more interesting.

Jim,
Re--"AMD K6-2-333 AMD K6-2-333 PACKARD BELL unit advertised at Compusa. AMD adds another tier one boxmaker."
Isn't PACKARD BELL partly owned by NEC? I tested the NEC (300MHz AMD) at the CompUSA, it is a nice speedy notebook.

Regards,
sa
