DJ! . . Using aproximations of your mag areas and a line that maybe similar and anchoring to the key EW pivots from those general time frames I get hits on the congestion areas that define the h & S in the sp500. It's not of interest that the formation traces that pattern nearly as much as locating the key points. I'm really looking forward to exchanging notes and learning proper construction of Mag Lines.

Thanks for steering me in the right direction. btw, no worries, the uptrend is very much intact, keep your eye on those key intersections. . Osci

Cube! . I've got the sp500 data but it's a real can of worms to export it to a format you can use and that would only give you sp5 data. Much better for you to get the full price history of all Nas and nyse stocks as you would find that more interesting in the long run. I pay 18/month and another 20 each Q for a cdrom. Dial Data, don't like mentioning their name because I just don't, they suck, sorry, but it fills in big gaps and is worth the trouble until DTN or someone comes along with better.

Find a permanent source, but meantime I can get sp5 to you probably via asci format, but I can't go there if the columns are a problem, too many variables and it involves Excel and like I said then you only have sp5. Fix it right the first time and you'll be happy in the future.

DJ, are you backtesting comkeys in MS? or just daily hits?

Another round at the comkey, this time I reverse engineered. I carefully "comkeyed" a variety of stuff with a fine tooth comb and made sure they hit the pastes I was comkeying. Then I ran it on the common population.

Still can't get any better than 4.5% pastes last 30 days. sigh...

Since Bob the code king broke LR silence I may try that and SRSI this week.

David,

There's a good chance that the S&P will find it's next test down at the 1000 level this week. Some more recent trend lines come into play on Wed.
From Tue. to Thur. will probably be a good time to make some short money.

Lows on 7/16/96 and 4/14/97
Highs on 7/20/98 and 8/20/98

These two lines intersect at the conspicuously psychological figure of 1K.
