PC Gamer's November issue rated the Live an "Editors Choice". Though I could not find the review at their web site, here are some excerpts: "The Sound Blaster Live! is the first sound card to use EAX, and our experience with it suggests that Creative's new standard has what it takes to bite back at the competition." "Creative Labs finally has a product (and an audio standard) that can help it give the competition's A3D-based boards a run for their money." "HIGHS: Best-sounding positional audio we've heard (with four speakers); full legacy support for DOS games; audiophiles will like the digital I/O card's MIDI and SPDIF connections." "LOWS: MOst games that support EAX are still on the horizon." "BOTTOM LINE: This is a powerful, great sounding PCI card." I had gone 3 years with my SB16, never really thinking I needed an upgrade. The Live caught my attention. I decided it was time to retire the 16. I'm glad I did. Now I'm set for the next 3 years (maybe more). Now CREAF is another question. Technically it looks like a breakout. Maybe someone knows something, but volume is still light compared to 1997. Many potential past investors/institutions must still be on the sidelines. What will it take to get this stock running on good volume? Hopefully Tuesday we will find out. Buddy
