I do want to refresh some memories for my self. In the mid to late 70s and early eighties it became fashionable to take on a particular attitude. That being: we generally disapprove of premarital sex, but we know they are going to do it anyway, winkie winkie; so, let's make sure they have information on how to make it safe. I was a high school teacher at the time. The kids did not see this attitude coming from the adult population as a disapproval at all. They saw it as license to go for it but "please be safe." This of course is an age of irresponsibility by anyones measure. Those kids are grown up now and have rewritten that attitude to be what it really was. That being: Go for it, have fun, don't take responsibility, any related problems are outside of yourself but correctable. These people and their now teen age kids are among Dan's 1.5m/year statistic. The social consequences for these people are devastating. The rest of us do not go unaffected. Is this the culture you want to live in and have your children nurtured by? None of us are living in a vacuum; well, except people engaging in an adulterous affair, but that is temporary. Is there a bigger picture and can we all support one another in painting it to be a better one? I'm not comparing one crowd against another. I don't want to be oppressed by the right or exploited by the left.
