UTEK...Should be a good short. Missed estimates by a wide margin, estimates -.8, actual -.34, revenues down 60%, gross margin all but disappeared (no product sales, just parts and service). Stock had a run up from $12 to $19 with the other semiconductor equipment stocks prior to earnings. Looks like the sector is ready for a pullback. Applied Materials (biggest player) just warned on Friday, and the news out of the Dataquest Semiconductor Conference in San Diego last week was very grim. Analyst now expect semiconductor equipment sales to be down another 10% in 1999.

Caroline,

I feel your pain. I also shorted HIT and , even on bad news concerning 1999 earnings, it just keeps recovering.
