OFF-TOPIC - An interesting site on abortion statistics is found at JAMA:

ama-assn.org

As I suspected, the increase and decrease in abortion rates is primarily linked to the demographic shifts taking place. The recent decrease in abortion rates can be linked to the increasing proportion of teens that are Hispanic and Asian whose populations have drastically lower abortion rates than African-American teens. As I recall from some time back, almost half of the teens will be from the Hispanic and Asian-American by early next decade. It would be interesting to see what the statistics on family composition in these groups: two-adults heading household as opposed to the single-head-of-households. Also, the Asian-American households already have the highest income of the demographic groups.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled program...

Daniel, from that excerption I take it you do not believe that abortion is a heinous evil?

Is there some statistical causality that says an evil is measured in the number of times it occurs?

Because it happens fewer times now than before, as per your understanding, it is now not evil? But if it happens a thousand times more, it is?

Bemoaning the fact that I believe we have to combat the heinous evil of murder by abortion with a lesser evil of broader contraception among those who engage in premarital sex is hardly fear mongering, nor is it some fringe-element train of thought that could be construed as such.
