(OTC BB:NVID) announced Tuesday that a patent application has been filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on its AXEN formulation. NVID has also filed an international application under the Patent Cooperation Treaty of the World Intellectual Property Organization of Geneva, Switzerland. Both applications cover the AXEN formulation as well as the process for manufacturing AXEN. The AXEN formulation is an aqueous disinfectant solution in a stable ionic form with an extended useful shelf life. Shelf life tests conducted by a state certified independent testing lab indicate that the AXEN disinfectant provides a stable ionic aqueous solution in a concentrated form, thus allowing the product to be marketed and distributed in either small retail containers or large tote bins. AXEN is being designed and developed to be an environmentally friendly disinfectant, based upon ionization stabilization technology that could replace many disinfectants that contain compounds of chlorine, quaternary ammonium and phenols that are currently available in the marketplace today. Potential markets for the product include disinfection of dental waterlines, hard surface contact disinfectant, residential and commercial humidification systems, veterinary applications and various dermatology applications such as soap, shampoo, acne, athlete's foot and toenail fungus.
