NBC news (East coast) just had a segment on internet fraud and spotlighted MTEI. Had an interview w/ a guy who lost his home down payment, showed the price charts, and quoted the former CEO as saying the stock was probably manipulated by someone. The segment lasted about 5 minutes, maybe 1/2 of that about MTEI.

MSNBC has an article on Internet Fraud and MTEI

FRANK BRUCATO, a New York City transit cop, had been investing in the stock market for two years, hoping to ride the bull market and make a profit.
“I was going to use the money to buy a ring for my girlfriend sometime next year and to buy a house with,” says Brucato, who is 29 years old.
Considering himself a savvy investor, he relied heavily on research from the Web along with discussions with other investors on Internet message boards and chat rooms.
When he read rumors about merger plans for a stock he already owned, he bought more, $22,000 worth. The company, a coal and gas exploration concern based in Houston, called Mountain Energy Inc., seemed like it was getting ready to take off.
