If you drag it near an edge of window it will "dock". You can move it by dragging it away from the edge.

When you place the cursor on one day's price bar, you only get a
cut-off version of "date and price data" which is unreadable.

What you are referring to is another feature that allows you to
dock a full frame window to the left of the chart. These are
two different features.
