Dear Mark,
So both should be held accountable for their acts of poor judgement and reckless behavior especially a president who many young men like my 2 sons look up to as the ultimate role model. The prestige and power of the office is one of the reasons I see Clinton as more accountable than Clarence.
I will share a sad story with you about the Clarence Thomas case. One of ALans closest friends and best man of his wedding was a teacher. He had some difficult years a bad divorce and a failed pet store business and then he got a great teaching job and a hope for a new life. About a year after getting this job a young girl decided to press sexual harrassment charges on him. Our beloved friend was so devastated by her false charges and the schools investigation (that the media took and plastered all over the country without evidence) that he commited suicide. There was a not guilty verdict founded a few days later but it was to late. I do not believe every girl that claims sexual harassment, and would not want to be in that girls shoes having a mans suicide on her conscince (if she has one). The media went crazy about him only because of the Clarence Thomas trial.
So each and every case has to be evaluated on its own merit and comparisons are not wise IMO. Bill Clinton broke trust with many way before the Monica Lewinsky thing. The element of dishonesty is my biggest problem.
I pray you and your family are well and happy,
Nancy
