GENERAL OBSERVATION:

if it were not for this thread....I would hold FORE longer than a few hours or days at most.

Think about what your purpose is when holding this stock.

<Fore's last runup was a barrage of TV advertising. Then the ads
just disappeared. Now they're back with a vengence>

If past history is a barometer then FORE is going to do another run up.
IMO, FORE is now very well positioned in both GBit and ATM. In addition, FORE product lineup can now provide Enterprise customers a very good end-to-end network starting from the desktop to the core, and the WAN backbone. By having well integrated support with Windows NT, FORE placed itself in a very strategic position for the next generation network computing infrastructure.
A simple example:
A fortune 500 sales executive in a group discussion for product promotion may be looking at a real-time video ad display on the PC that is sent by the ad agency, and at the same time talking to customer on the phone, and accessing the corporate intranet for a quick download of customer information. All these to happen simultaneously require different quality of service. A common way will be to have NT based network applications that can relay necessary bandwidth and delay requirements via NT to the intelligent network supported by the NT aware FORE's switches.
