No the articles don't talk about lowering anything. They do talk about some shifts women are taking to get more out of life. Basically the women mentioned are saying, "I've climbed the career ladder successfully" I don't care if somebody else thinks I should stay on "top." There is a lot more to life, and I'm going to have some of it. They actually describe it more as enjoying the fruits of their labor before its to late. There is no devalued sense of them becoming an apron waving subordinate to somebody else.

Congratulations on your plans to have a family. Do you think that will facilitate any adjustment in your outlook on life. I didn't have kids until in my 30s. I found myself enjoying life through their eyes. It was refreshing, I still enjoy them immensely as teen agers.
