Interesting quotes from oct 22 SEC filing:

>As a result of the foregoing factors, the Company believes
>that it will continue to incur substantial operating losses for the >foreseeablefuture and that the rate
>at which such losses will be incurred will increase significantly >from current levels."

I've never heard them say directly before that "we are losing more and more money, and we cannot see any slowdown in loss increases"
This is pretty bleak.

> "Unpredictability of Future Revenues; Potential Fluctuations in > Quarterly Operating Results;
> Seasonality. As a result of the Company's limited operating history > and the emerging nature of
> the markets in which it competes, the Company is unable to > accurately forecast its revenues."

When asked for comment, Mary meeker was heard to say "Yes, they always seem to forecast 12 cents below what they think the number will be. Strange, but we don't see anything suspicious about it. Hmm? Just add 12 cents to those forecasts you say? Not likely, why confuse the public? They want to see surprises!" (btw, that quote was satire, I have no proof mary ever said such a thing)

Since Amazon has pushed the earnings date back in order to let insiders hedge before the bloodbath, this has conveniently also left time for banks such as Deutsche Bank to come in and lower estimates even FURTHER, the very weekend before earnings. (btw, deutsche bank initiated "accumulate" coverage of AMZN 2 days earlier.) Are these guys going to lower estimates up until 4pm on the day of earnings or what?
