CatLady. . I think your right in part that it takes some understanding of which pivots to key off of, often I prefer to single out a small segment and look at it in detail. too much detail sometimes, and other times I learn things that are important to me, I've a back burner of ideas about expansion and contraction in what I think of as novel ways compared to the methods I read about that my ideas germinate from.

I knew when I entered abte that it hadn't confirmed the signal which I saw coming soon. Higher high for confirmation :( Higher low was confirmed. I was going on instinct and solid rules and testing a method that gets in before the run that confirms. essentially I went on half the signal parameters. By dissecting the smaller waves I learn more of the same principles, my 12 bar pattern has confirmed gtg, and I know when it will confirm it's intention to go the the other direction. Something bigger often overules, but have to figure out rules. looking forward to learning whatever it maybe. getting tired of chart, may cancel trade and renter another that's fresh.

My saving grace has been fundamentals and I put it away if it doesn't go my way. I'm trying to learn to trade a new method. It's often imperfect but I know when I'm failing to take signals and that's all that's important.

ABTE is a small trade for me, if it cancels I'll still have my account. I should be keying off larger patterns. meantime, I'm still learning and having fun so what the hey! :))

Don Sew discussed the pitchfork a few weeks ago on the Tech Stock Options thread. A search might pull up the posts.
