Putting on cedar shingles is one of the most satisfying jobs I know. I am glad that you did not do anything more serious than it sounds, anyway, when you fell off the roof. But do be careful. A friend of mine shattered both heels by sliding off the roof a year ago cleaning gutters. You must have a good back if that's what it takes to put it out.

I am ready for an energy crisis myself, with a couple of cords of mostly hardwood. But it looks as if OPEC and others are determined to impoverish themselves to keep Americans roaring pointlessly about on hard, dry pavements in the 4WD sports utility vehicles. Also, I have a pile of money tied up in oil royalty trusts.

What we need is a combination market crash and energy crisis to cheer us all up!

Japan MOF says has not heard of Brazil aid request

biz.yahoo.com

<< Japanese Vice Finance Minister Koji Tanami said on Monday he had not heard of any request for Japan to participate in a package of financial support for Brazil.

The New York Times reported on Sunday that the United States was helping to put together a $30 billion international aid package for Brazil and other Latin American nations. >>

The next shoe about to drop?

Hi russell,

Glad to hear you didn't kill yourself falling off the roof ... bet you are glad too!

Hope your back gets better fast ... I usually slip on the ice and twist mine once a year and it takes about 3 days of agony before it goes away, so I can just imagine what you are going through.

As to the winter, we had some of the leaves on the trees change color about 3 weeks earlier than usual, but the rest were at the normal time. Finally figured out that last January's ice-storm probably made them more sensitive. Actually, a milder winter could give us more freezing rain.

Have a great day trading.

John
