Pfizer Submits Viagra TV Ads to FDA for Review, USA Today Says

New York, Oct. 26 (Bloomberg) -- Pfizer Inc. is ready to air
its first television commercial for its impotence drug Viagra and
has submitted the advertisements to the U.S. Food and Drug
Administration for review, USA Today reported. The commercials
also have been submitted to television networks and cable stations
for review and while an ABC spokeswoman said the commercial is in
the clearance process, a spokesman for ESPN said the spots
reviewed so far won't be used by the sports station, although ESPN
is open to showing the ads in the future. After the FDA approves
the commercials -- a process that generally takes about three
weeks -- Pfizer is expected to give networks the go-ahead to begin
airing the 60-second ad, the paper said.

Pfizer's print ads for Viagra, featuring a photo-spread of
older couples dancing cheek-to-cheek, already appear in
magazines.
