That makes a lot of sense - at least for Bill it does. So instead of selling you a piece of software for a one time 200 bucks or so - you could pay a small fee each time you log on, pay connect fees, an access fee, an upgrade fee, a support fee, and a storage fee for the rest of your life. And, if that doesn't generate enough revenue for MSFT, Bill will find a way to charge you an ongoing fee even after you are dead.

If Bill doesn't do this, then there is a whole bunch of smart@sses lining up behind him; Lou, Scot, Steve,....

BTW: What was Maria talking about this morning on CNBC? What poor reporting on Intel and Craig Barrett. Basically, she was trying to report that Barrett sold a third of his Intel stock to pay the IRS - but what came out was incomprehensible.
