PB-NEC according to the URL is one of the top 5 PC retail store Cos.
As that news item points out AMD is now in all of the top 5 mfrs.
Gateway is very likely since Q4 is the big sales quarter and none of these PC cos. wants to miss out on the large share of sales that AMD has carved out,
regards , Brian
PS As Zlotnikov pointed out in the Oct 19 Business week article
page 48 "The momentum of K6 in consumer markets gives sufficient credibility to attack the corporate market" .

Note this was a dual announcement PB for desktops and NEC for Mobile K6-300's.

Re: Gateway/Dell etc.

I think too much is being made of these guys. They have done very well. But as we move into a fundamentally lower pricing structure for PC's $300-$1300 I see their leverage decreasing. Currently Dell/GTW average PC price is $2000. These guys are going to get killed in the rush to sub $1000 CORPORATE PC's. If they are loyal to Intel for too long they will at the end of the delivery line for AMD chips in 2H99.

Regards,

Kash

If Gateway adds AMD, I think we should all pitch in and send Engel a case of "Depends". <G>
