Hi Jane,

<<All we really need when we get down to the essentials is our Bible.>>

Amen! That's why God describes it as sharper than a two edged sword.
I appreciate when someone else recognizes Satan's attempts at influencing almost everything around us. I'm not busy looking for demons behind the furniture but as scripture says "being not ignorant of his devices." Nor do I negate their existence. One of Satan's best weapons is peoples disbelief in him.
His evil plotting festers in everything from politics to kids cartoons and we should be wary as God has told us "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge."
If those people had read their bibles instead of watching Jim Jones tossing one around they would have recognized who he was really representing.
Our problem seems to be even amongst Christians who like the 9 to 5 routine without waves. We are given all power and authority over the enemy, God's word as a manual and a weapon, the Holy Spirit to guide and comfort us, a full suit of heavenly armour and then we sit back in those comfortable pews again and complacently watch our nation and our kids let alone our neighbours pour into the gaping maw of hellfire.
If we sit still and Satan sits still staring at each other, he always wins. The ones we don't bring the gospel to are already his.
Dear Lord we need revival! Beginning with us!

God bless,
John
