What I want to know is how may of the 50,000,000,000 imbedded chips, even those with a built in date function, are even aware of the data/time? A washing machine might have such a chip built in but how do you set the time on a washing machine? If the designers didn't provide and interface to allow the time to be set, seems to me a pretty good indication that awareness of the date is irrelrevant.

If you can't set the date, how can it obliterate?
