OT

forget cooking...
I have a banking question for anyone up to speed on banking laws

I deposited a big dollar personal check (with a low check number..under 1000) into my personal checking account on Friday...I only keep $100 in there consistently... but consistently put big checks in there and have had that account for 10 years and NEVER had a check bounce or had a check that I have deposited bounce

they put a 5 day hold on that check (maybe because of the low check number as they have taken checks from this person before and never put a hold on them)...now I understand the law about the 5 day hold and giving 100 dollars the first day

BUT
I know that check can clear in two days...as I recently did the reverse with the persons bank (in another state)and the whole thing cleared in two days...deposited one day..clears the next...
So the bank is telling me there is no way to lift that hold because they dont know that they got the money. I said even if I have something sent to you from the OTHER bank saying they cleared the check

NOPE..still wont lift the hold

so anyone know a reg or rule that I can use to get around this
