STM has been talking about this chip for a while. I didn't see in the press if it is actually available now, or later. But it sounded from the previous news that the chip will have fairly low performance.

NSM's chip should be more competitive, since it will be similarly priced, but offer more performance, integrated audio/video/DVD and network interface.

My guess is that is the same chip that they've been talking about and based on 486 core. If it is, my believe it's too little too early - the world is not really wired up enough yet, but even today, it requires more processing power to handle graphics and sound even for the kind of kiosk people like to use. 486 core vs MXi core will result in DOS like screen vs fully multi-media screen. After people are used to the multi-media experience on the net, I doubt too many will buy going back to DOS screens.
