Alan
well I have talked to the branch manager who put the hold on the check (not my regular branch)..but cant find the right person to talk to within the bank over her head....they keep sending me back to the branch manager...

Its not dire that I get the money right away or anything..but the thought that they can have my money literally today..but I cant use it until Friday (even though I want to put that money in my trading account) really bothers me and sets a precedent for me for future problems...

the branch manager insists there is no way that they will know within the bank that it cleared (only that it didnt clear within these 5 days) and that they have the money...I find this unbelievable....but it could be true since I dont know the banking system

btw, there is a interesting little rule called the midnight banking rule...(I think that is the name of the rule...and i have forgotten the specifics of it) but if anyone deposits a check and it bounces..get with me and I will tell you something to look for to see if the bank has to pay up...after I find the rule again
