Because they latched on to 50% of the political party structure in the US and now anybody who isnt a Bible thumper doesnt have a real choice anymore, imo. I would feel the same way if Earth First attached itself to the Dems. I dont like radical groups controlling large political machines. As an example look at this guy Ahmasson (sp?) in Ca who is a huge donor to all the republican candidates. He wants to replace the Constitution with the Bible. Very scary.
