Run-down of the December issue of "Computer Gaming World" magazine:

p.6-7 - STB's two-page TNT ad w/helicopter. Banshee mentioned in one of the quotes.

p.12 - the Contents page, picture of a Wicked 3D Vengence card for the "Behemouth 3D RoundUp" article.

p.19 - 3Dfx logo on Westwood Studio's "Land of Lore III" ad. No other card logos.

p.26 - Denny Atkin's column "Killer Flight-Sim Rig" recommends a pair of Canopus Pure 3D II Voodoo2 cards because "...only the 3Dfx cards support all three major 3D standards" (ed.note: Damn straight!)

p.27 - Alienware custom gaming computer ad. The "Hive-Mind" model includes a Canopus's TNT and Voodoo2 cards ($2700). The "Area-51VR" model ($3999) does also.

p.35 - "Amphetamine Boy" explains why, in 50 words or less, he deserves to win a Voodoo2 card in a rather graphic letter to the editor.

p.39 - Lucas Art's ad for the upcoming "Rogue Squadron" contains a picture of a Voodoo2 card ("Your Draft Card") and a rather generic "Requires 3D Accelerator" logo.

p.42 - Two-page "Dead Reckoning" ad contains a 3Dfx logo. No other card logos.

p.59 - 3DO's two-page "Uprising 2: Lead and Destroy" ad contains a 3Dfx logo. No other card logos.

p.62 - Eidos' two-page "Tomb Raider III" ad contains a 3Dfx logo. No other card logos.

p.69 - Review of "Myth II: Soulblighter" mentions support for 3Dfx and Rendition chipsets, with D3D promised later.

p.70 - 989 Sports' two-page ad for "NFL GameDay 99" has a 3Dfx logo and no other card logos.

p.80 - "Total Air War" ad contains 3Dfx logo, no others.

p.91 - Ad for "RoboRumble" includes a 3Dfx logo, no others.

p.152 - Disturbing ad for ATi's "Rage Fury" card where an end-user is decapitated by the video card (yikes!)

p.158 - Microprose's ad for "Klingon Honor Guard" has a 3Dfx logo. No others.

p.164a - Huge fold-out poster ad for "Myth II: Soulblighter" includes 3Dfx logo, no others.

p.185 - "Independence War" ad had 3Dfx logo, no others.

p.186 - "Redguard" ad had 3Dfx logo, no others.

p.188 - Two page "Recoil" ad has 3Dfx logo, no others.

p.198 - Two-page ad for "MotoRacer 2" has a 3Dfx logo, no others.

p.214 - Review of Guillemot Phoenix Banshee card follows the TNT review in the "Holiday Hot 100" section. Quote: "If you can only afford one card, consider a board that uses 3Dfx's new Banshee chipset."

p.238 - "3Dfx Power of 2" ad with the loveable(?) Orangatans - now backed by a black n' white American flag(?).

p.252 - Interesting ad for Real3D's StarFighter (i740-based). "When you win more than a dozen awards for 3D graphics, you don't need an ad. You need a speech." It then announces a speech-writing contest.

p.254 - 4Gamers.com ad for a 12MB Voodoo2 card at $139.95

p.256-291 - "3D to Die For" article comparing 13 new accelerator boards. Conclusion: "Top honors to STB Velocity 4400" however "Don't sell the Banshee cards short, either. The ability to run Glide games is a big plus, as is their relatively low cost."

p.262 - Two-page ad for "Jane's WWII Fighters" include a 3Dfx logo, no others.

p.264 - A blow-up test image shows (convincingly) the image quality difference between Banshee and TNT.

p.265 - A sidebar explains "The Glide Factor"

p.272 - Gamegauge scores for all the cards. Also reviews of the Quantum3D Raven and the Guillemot Phoenix.

p.276 - Review of the (bizarre, IMHO) Quantum3D S12, a Voodoo2 card that is AGP based.

p.277 - Review of the "almost shipping" Wicked3D Vengence 16MB Voodoo2 card.

p.282 - Review of the "almost shipping" Monster Fusion Banshee card.

p.286 - Bizarre Creative Labs ad that features the Voodoo2, TNT, and Banshee chipsets.

p.290 - Creative Labs pricing ad - 3D Blaster Banshee: $99, TNT: $169, Voodoo2: Call(!)

p.298 - Two-page "Return Fire 2" ad has a 3Dfx logo, no others.

p.302 - "Hardware" column includes some Rampage rumors: AGP 2D/3D "will be 3Dfx's ONLY chip" (emphasis theirs). "That's right, kids, new 3D-only 3Dfx boards will be a thing of the past when Rampage arrives, sometime next year." "...given that the current Voodoo2/Banshee architecture isn't especially AGP-friendly, 3Dfx may be looking to create an architecture that will take better advantage of AGP."

p.304 - Two-page Diamond Monster Fusion ad (cool, folding ad ala Mad magazine)

p.306 - Thoughtful "3D Sucks" article about how "It's the game, stupid!"

p.311 - "Killer Rigs" column describes two systems that both use Voodoo2 cards.

p.312 - Gateway ad describing two computers, the high-end one has a TNT card, the lower-end one has a "16MB AGP Graphics Accelerator" (Ed.Note:Hmmmmmmm)

p.315 - Gateway ad offering Voodoo2 card as part of a "Gamers Upgrade" package.

p.324 - "CyberStrike2" ad with 3Dfx logo, no others.

p.354 - "Red Baron 3D" ad with 3Dfx logo, no others.

p.358 - Review of "Independence War" including the following quote: "The biggest enhancement to the US version is hardware acceleration for 3Dfx Voodoo2 cards. On these cards, you'll see more dramatic special effects as well as more detailed, texture-mapped ships."

p.374 - Two-page "Unreal" ad includes 3Dfx logo along with the PowerVR logo.

p.380 - Two-page ad for Dynamix's "Pro Pilot" includes 3Dfx logo, no others.

p.388 - Review of Microsoft's "Motocross Madness" mentions that "The game looks equally georgous in D3D or 3Dfx mode, so either way you win."

p.400 - Two-page ad for "Need for Speed III" include 3Dfx logo, no others.

p.402 - Two-page ad for "Speed Busters" includes 3Dfx logo, no others.

p.446 - The "Greenspeak" column (quasi-humorous) mentions that "my Voodoo card now needs to be replaced with a Voodoo2".

p.447 - Dell ad mentions 3 models with the TNT card in it, 2 with ATI XPERTs, 1 with nVidia ZX, and 1 with ATI 8MB card. Bizarrely, Dell fails to mention their Voodoo2 add-on in this ad.
