except research for current information. here is a clip from a prk article:

Astigmatic Keratotomy ("AK") is a commonly used variation of
radial keratotomy. Employing parallel incisions in the cornea's outer
zone, AK is specifically designed to reduce naturally occurring
astigmatism or that which may follow injuries to the cornea, corneal
transplants or cataract surgery. AK is used either alone or in
combination with RK and PRK when so indicated.

Among the treatments conceived thus far, the most promise for
farsighted individuals to be rid of glasses or contact lenses rests with
yet another type of laser now under development. By precise
application of tiny spots of laser heat upon the cornea's outer zone, the
HOLMIUM LASER produces a steepening, rather than a flattening, of
the central corneal curvature, restoring sharp focus .
