Why on Earth would anybody want Jim to stop posting? I certainly don't. I've always encouraged dual-sided examination and critical reasoning. Said so in my posts, too&#151numerous times. Can't help but notice that it's the hype-hype-cheerleaders who seem to have a problem with having two sides on a thread. Where do you think all the extra evil basher rhetoric comes from?

&#147I think the only people that may want you to stop are the FBNers.&#148

Humbly report, All, while researching another y2k PC remediation product, namely The Millennium Bug 2000 Fix™, I came across this statement:

Not only does 2000 Fix identify the problematic code in your software, it can repair the commands in the code so that it will enable the software applications you use to correctly process dates after the year 2000. In order to do this, 2000 Fix analyzes the code in a machine Language - a language common to all computer applications. It can then repair the non-compliant code enabling it to properly process dates from any century. [Bold mine.]

The reason I bring this up is because of this statement by PINC, contained in the post to which I am replying, in which PINC explains why MBCK cannot FIX PC y2k problems:

. . . we can not touch another manufacturer's software. That is illegal. All we can do is provide a data base of manufacturer's phone numbers for a person to call if he has a problem. [Bold mine.]

Can anyone explain this apparent inconsistency?

By the way, Millennium Quest has a rather impressive list of clients:

It would be interesting to see PINC publishing their list of clients.

Cheers,

Svejk
