<If anyone has a good resource for hardware info (besides the various chat threads), please let me know. For now, tho, I'm going to remove Tom's Hardware from my bookmarks.>

You may also want to try anandtech.com . This is a web site run by a teenager named Anand who does almost as good a job as Tom when it comes to testing and benchmarking.

As for Tom's Hardware, I wouldn't drop it from my list of bookmarks yet. Sure, his piece on the K7 played right into the hands of AMD marketing, but Tom also has a lot of the inside scoop on the industry's plans in terms of CPU, chipsets, graphics cards, etc. Plus, Tom's benchmarking efforts are pretty trustworthy, making him my first source for benchmark data.
