Solaris vs NT....Microsoft To Unveil Smart Card System
(http://www.foxmarketwire.com/wires/1026/f_rt_1026_35.sml)

"...One application that will be a focus for Microsoft is security for
computer networks running on its high-end Windows NT operating system. The next version of Windows NT will have the built-in ability to understand information on smart cards, and some advanced computers are being shipped with slots to read the cards..."

Sounds like something Sunw already thought about but really never got it to be a standard. Now MS will deliver a smart card system as a pre-installed service in the new NT update. This is a necessary system for e-commerce and in store turnkey order systems.
